Bible Cell

The Bible Cell at St. Theresa’s was set up in 2001 as an outcome of the synod held earlier that year. The cell was charged with re-introducing and popularizing the Bible among all parishioners. Getting everyone to open the Bible and develop a love for the Word of God remains its key objective.

Membership in the cell has grown over the years from an initial five to more than 20 active members today. The cell meets every Monday at 7:30pm in the parish office to pray, discuss and plan for the various programs being organized.

The cell’s programs include: Vacation Bible Joy, Christmas Café, Basic Bible Seminar, Bible Fun-time, and the ever-popular 3B’s (Bible, Bhelpuri & Bingo).

The cell also organizes special programs such as film screenings, a Lenten Passover Meal and other events during the year in order to help parishioners gain a greater understanding and experience a more personal encounter with God’s Word.

Members of the Bible Cell participate in group retreats and outings to grow spiritually and build stronger relationships.

All parishioners are welcome to join. The Cell also invites parish associations and SCCs interested in a customized program or Basic Bible Seminar to get in touch.

The activities of the cell are coordinated by Livia D’Sa (tel. 98677-12242) and Melroy Fonseca (tel. 98192-77890). Fr. Sunil Menezes serves as Spiritual Director.
