The Pre-Baptism Ministry at St. Theresa’s is designed to help expectant parents spiritually prepare themselves to welcome the new life they have co-created with God, and to prepare the right environment for this new life to grow & blossom as a child of God and the Church.
The birth of a child is a key moment in the life of a family. While parents prepare in advance for the delivery with baby clothes, nursery set-up, toys, schooling plans, etc., preparation for the spiritual is often overlooked. It is however essential that couples prepare themselves for this special event and the pre-baptism catechesis is an enlightening way to do so.
The program explains how faith formation begins from the moment of conception and the Rite of Baptism, and how parents and godparents must be teachers of faith and role models to enable the child to experience the richness of spiritual life and imbibe good moral values.
All expectant couples in the parish are welcome and invited to register for this ministry. The sessions are conducted once a quarter on four consecutive Sundays, with the specific dates notified during the weekly announcements.
The ministry is conducted by the Pre-Baptism Team comprised of four couples, currently led by Royston & Binaifer Braganza. Fr. Bernard Rodrigues serves as Spiritual Director.
