The Bible Study Group at St. Theresa’s began under the guidance of Fr. Henry D’Souza, SVD following the charism of his congregation
in 2000 when the “Word made Life” came alive in the community. Fr. Henry roped in the services of the Ministers of the Word who
were then being trained in the Archdiocese of Bombay.

The Bible Study Class later continued with these commissioned Ministers teaching and conducting sessions, following the
subsequent transfer of Fr. Henry.

The aim of the Bible Study Group is to help the faithful learn and understand the Word of God and gain an appreciation of the
Catholic Church and its traditions as per Canon Law.

The Group enables participants to understand Scripture not in the literal sense but in how it is relevant to present times. It also helps
them understand how prophesies of the Old Testament are linked to the teachings of Christ contained in the New Testament.

The Bible Study Class is held twice a month, on the first and third Thursdays of the month. Besides the in-house teachers, it
occasionally features outside speakers, priests and religious.

Membership in the Group is free and all are invited to join.
