Fr. Lawrence Correa SVD

Fr. Lawrence Correa, SVD, was born on 27th April 1953 in Pernal, Mangalore, Karnataka, and was ordained a priest on 29th April 1980. He has six brothers and one sister, who is a religious nun belonging to the Carmelite sisters of St. Theresa (CSST). Over the past four decades, Fr. Lawrence has served the Society of the Divine Word in a variety of pastoral, social, educational, and leadership roles in Mumbai, Andhra Pradesh, Pune, Mysuru, and New York. He served twice at St. Theresa’s Church, Bandra, as co-pastor and Director of the Urban Community Development Centre (1981–1983 and 1995–1999), and was actively involved in Justice, Peace and Integrity of Creation initiatives at provincial, Asian, and international levels. He also held leadership positions with VIVAT International at the United Nations in New York (2000–2005).
